Ashley Rhodes-Courter

turning adversity into agency

After nearly a decade in Florida's foster care system — placed in 14 homes and institutions by the age of three, and adopted at 12 — Ashley Rhodes-Courter refused to let her circumstances define her future.

Today she is a New York Times and international bestselling author, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and founder of the Foundation for Sustainable Families — a trauma-informed mental health agency serving individuals and families in high-stress environments.

As a foster and adoptive parent herself, Ashley and her husband have cared for more than 25 children who were victims of extreme abuse and neglect. She has spoken on Capitol Hill, been invited to the White House twice, and won national and international awards for her advocacy, speaking, and philanthropy.

Her keynotes go beyond inspiration — providing practical, research-informed strategies that help professionals navigate burnout, strengthen personal ownership, and sustain impact in demanding roles. Ashley challenges audiences to examine the words shaping their mindset, reclaim their influence, and commit to meaningful action.
